In light of recent visit to the United States, Vincent Ialenti, a National Science Foundation graduate research fellow and a PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology, and , a professor of anthropology, encouraged people in to read the letter he wrote to all of us, Laudato Si.
Ialenti and Riles say the letter is “important because it defies the United States’ political imagination at every turn" and addresses three important questions: How can we envision brighter tomorrow? What are the ethics of private property? And why do we let technology run our lives?
Ialenti and Riles have “invited a select group of legal scholars, anthropologists, theologians, businesspeople, political scientists, futurists, architects, literature scholars, geographers, bureaucrats and other thinkers from around the world to read and discuss Laudato Si together" through , Cornell Law School’s virtual think tank.
